Why is vice so strong,
While virtue weak?
Patience, kindness, forgiveness,
Are these not things that we all seek?
Is not patience but simply the act of waiting,
Allowing life to to happen in its own time?
Why is such a simple thing,
Seemingly impossible, so grating?
Is not kindness but treating others,
As we would treat ourselves?
Spreading our joy to the world,
As would our own mothers?
Is forgiveness not just letting go,
Relieving hearts of their heaviest burden?
And planting them with love instead,
So that our soul might flower and grow.
Why are such simple things so difficult for us to grasp?
We are only human, but only love can last.
