Or Delusion and Illusion (The Reality of an Egg Head)

What was once a bright and shining beacon,
Dims and darkens with neglect.
The gluttonous brilliance once so assured,
Has dissipated, leaving only the shell of intellect.

What was once lauded as such an impressive thing,
Turned out to be the mere illusion of acuity.
The solid walls, so carefully crafted of books and knowledge,
Turned out to be but flimsy cardboard under scrutiny.

The egg, once cracked, was found to hold no yolk;
Nothing was inside that delicate white shell.
No new life, no new hope to light the world;
Just emptiness, darkness,
Hell.
